1. Who is Robert Mugabe? How long has he been in power? How popular is he?

Robert Mugabe is the President of Zimbabwe. He has held power as the head of government since 1980, as Prime Minister from 1980 to 1987, and as the first executive head of state since 1987.

2. Who is Morgan Tsvangirai? Whicgh is/ has been his political role?

He is the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe.And a key figure in the opposition to President Robert Mugabe. He lost the elcetions in in 2002 presidential election, losing to Mugabe .Mr Mugabe at first refused, but in the end agreed to have one minister from each side.

3. What happened during last year's elections? Which was the outcome?

Mr Tsvangirai becomes prime minister and heads a new council of ministers, while Mr Mugabe continues to chair cabinet meetings. Mr Mugabe at first refused, but in the end agreed to have one minister from each side.

4. Whis is the economic situation in Zimbabwe? How do the people feel about this?

They feel very bad because they have a infection a cholera outbreak and they need to spend money in zimbabwe. also they have food shortages, and spiraling hyperinflation. the cholera outbrake is chained with a crisis and the have the world s highest inflation rate.

5. What do you think about the celebrations and the lavish party?

i think they are doing stupid things because they are spending a lot of money in a party when the country needs money and start to prevent the cholera crisis, and the people are argumenting that it is only one more year and they cant spend that amonunt of money in that.

I think that they had gone overboard doing that party because like the article says we need to improve zimbabwe s crisis spending money to kill the virus or get medicines . not doing a party

i think that two people are figthing dicretely and the people are suffering the damages, and political figths.becouse conflict is a struggle between 2 or more opposite forces.

The president Mugabe and Morgan Tsvangirai and the peolple of zimbabwe and the partys.

c) Explain in detail why the conflict has happened.

the party that is in power is spending money in personal affairs , like the birthday instead of fighting the cholera and the food shortage like i comented before.

d) Give a timeline of events (at least 5) related to the conflict.

Aug 2008: cholera break

Feb 2009: Robert Mugabe spent $250 000 USD in his personal birthday party.

Feb 2009: Mugabe's 85th birthday(non relevance for the people)

Feb 2009: Tsvangirai visits a hospital and says it needs 30,000 dollars to keep operating.

Feb 2009: Mugabe is opressed by the people.

e) How do you think this conflict can be solved and why?

i think that they shoulkd talk about their problems and solve thme because they are playing battlefield and the people is suffering because of their problems ,and later on that they solve everything they should invest in the cholera.
